Suicide Aware

Congratulations to our employment team on continuous personal development

This month, our Employment team participated in a powerful and insightful Suicide First Aid training session delivered by Jane McNeice.

Suicide is, unfortunately, far too common topic when working with neurodivergent individuals. It is essential that our team is fully prepared to have open, honest, and compassionate conversations, especially when someone may be at risk.

One of the most important reflections from the session was this: we must not be afraid to ask directly about suicidal thoughts. Avoiding the subject does not keep people safe, but creating a space where they feel able to speak openly could save a life.

By building our confidence to have these difficult conversations, we are taking a vital step in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the individuals we work with.

Let us continue working to remove the stigma and ensure that everyone feels safe to speak up especially when they need help the most.

Congratulations to the Employment Team for tackling and continuing to increase awareness of such a difficult topic.
