We secured Emma a 9-5 role with lots of progression opportunities that would allow her to specialise after her probation period into an area that interested her. Our real work began when we started preparing for the change into a 9-5 role. We spent the month before her start date having in-depth discussions about how to ensure Emma could keep up with life admin as well as balancing her work and social life.
We spoke about what Emma anticipated she may struggle with and drafted a reasonable adjustment email together that we sent off to her employer. We also supported Emma with putting in an Access to Work application to ensure that she had support to settle in well.
Emma now has settled into her role and is doing fantastically. Her managers are impressed with her work and Emma knows that she has support when she needs it. Her managers have accepted all of her reasonable adjustments and offered extra support on top of this.
Emma is maintaining a strong social life and managing to continue with all of her hobbies as well. Emma now feels confident enough to continue in work without support from us!
